I've been searching for the best mask/ deep conditioner for Afro hair. I have 2 different textures in my hair and need to make sure that whatever product I use gives enough moisture to the coarser textured hair.
My hairdresser used Mizani products in my hair and I had always heard great stuff about the brand so decided to try out their Supreme Oil range (Shampoo, conditioner and hair mask). This review will focus specifically on the the hair mask.
Heres what Mizani supreme oil mask says it does:
“Silicone-free formula, rich in natural oils (penetrating Rice Bran, Argan and Avocado Oils) and shea butter for intense penetration and conditioning
Restores natural softness and conditions for better manageability when styling
Helps protect hair from dryness and brittleness that cause breakage
Does not weigh hair down" Mizani
Don't be fooled by its name, this product isn't oily, it's very creamy however does not weigh down your hair.
They don't give a suggestion of how much you should put on so I separated my hair into 4 sections and used a 10p sized amount on. It smells amazing just like the rest of the Supreme oil range.
The instructions say leave in hair for 3-5 minutes however I got distracted and left it a little long. I think when I next use it I will incorporate it with my steam sessions so it really penetrates my hair.
It left my hair feeling really soft, moisturised, manageable and healthier. People have also seemed to notice that my hair is healthier both my hairdresser and friends have commented on the appearance (especially the shine). I have also noticed that my hair has stayed better when it is braided after using the mask.
This product is pricier than some of the other afro hair care products however I think it is worth it especially if you alternate each week with a different hair mask. This product could last you well over 2 months. It smells great and it seems to do what it says on the bottle. This is now a firm favourite in my hair care regime.
